OWENS CROSS ROADS, Ala. – The Knights women's golf team completed their 2023-24 season with an 11
th-place finish at the Atlantic Sun Championship on the Highlands Course at Hampton Cove Tuesday afternoon.
Bellarmine finished at plus-53 after rounds of 303, 310 and 304.
The ASUN was the final collegiate event for Knights seniors
Alaina Schmitt,
Josephine Bonin and
Jessica Stephens.
Schmitt finished tied for 35
th at plus-11 while Bonin tied for 39
th at plus-13. Stephens posted a 77 and an 87 (plus-20), but was subbed out for the final round.
Sophomore
Rozlyn Rooke, a transfer from Texas State, was the Knights' top finisher, tying for 24
th at plus-7 after carding a pair of 74s Sunday and Monday before finishing with a 75 Tuesday. She and Schmitt also tied to lead the Knights with eight birdies apiece.
Junior
Matti Spalding finished 54
th at plus-29 to round out the Knights' unsubstituted players.
Freshman
Presli Webb shot a 78 and was able to hole three birdies in the third round, her only day of action as the other substitute alongside Stephens.
Kennesaw State took home the ASUN title at even-par, finishing with consecutive minus-2s to overtake Lipscomb, who finished at plus-2 after they carded a plus-5 in the third round.
Lipscomb's Lauren Thompson took home medalist honors at minus-11. She was followed by Jacksonville's Ivete Rodrigues at minus-4 and Kennesaw State's Bella Kil at minus-3.
