MURRAY, Ky. – The Bellarmine women's golf team finished second out of five teams in the Jan Weaver Invitational this weekend, an event added to the schedule last week to get the Knights one more competition ahead of the Atlantic Sun Championship following several cancellations due to weather.

The event was hosted by Murray State at Miller Memorial Golf Course.

Alaina Schmitt continued to lead the way for the Knights, finishing fourth in the field of 25 following rounds of 76, 76 and a team-best 74.

Rozlyn Rooke also finished in the top 10, alone in eighth place, at plus-15.

Host Murray State won the event at plus-19 while the Knights finished in second at plus-66. The Racers' Payton Carter took home medalist honors at minus-4, one shot better than teammate Ella Scherer.
