ATLANTA — Junior first baseman Casey Sorg was named first-team All-ASUN while senior center fielder Will Aubel landed third-team plaudits, the league announced Monday.

Sorg led Bellarmine and was among the ASUN's best in numerous offensive categories this season. The native of Floyds Knobs, Indiana, tied for fourth in the conference in triples (three), tied for seventh in hits (72), ranked eighth in total bases (132) and was 11th in batting average (.348) while tying for 11th in home runs (14) and slugging percentage (.638). The switch hitter also tied for 12th in RBI (49) and tied for 13th in runs scored (50).

Sorg bolstered his game in ASUN play. In league action, he batted .375/.441/.664 with eight homers, nine doubles, two triples and 34 RBI. Sorg may have had the Knights' most memorable individual performance of the season when he launched three homers while piling up six RBI and five runs scored in an ASUN contest against Jacksonville. He's the third player in the D1 era to earn first-team All-ASUN laurels after Josh Finerty (2021) and Matt Higgins (2022).

A fifth-year senior, Aubel followed a breakout 2023 season with a standout 2024 campaign. The native of Addieville, Illinois, tied for first in the ASUN in stolen bases with 23, with 21 of those thefts coming in league play. The outfielder batted .322 with three homers, five doubles, two triples, 25 RBI and 39 runs scored.

Like Sorg, Aubel elevated his performance in ASUN action. Along with his 20-plus stolen bases against league opponents, he batted .360 with 18 RBI and 33 runs scored. Aubel was recognized as the ASUN Player of the Week on April 1 after a week that included a 12-for-16 (.750) performance in a sweep of North Florida.

Austin Peay garnered three of the ASUN superlative awards: Player of the Year (Lyle Miller-Green), Defensive Player of the Year (Jon Jon Gazdar) and Coach of the Year (Roland Fanning). Central Arkansas' Jesse Barker was voted Pitcher of the Year, and Stetson's Kyle Jones was tabbed as the Freshman of the Year.
