MADISON, Ill. –
Ballard Harris wasted no time returning to form after missing all of the 2023-24 season. The redshirt senior tied for 18
th out of 99 golfers at minus-2 at the Dolenc Invitational, the men's golf team's first event of the 2024-25 season.
The Knights made a strong showing as a team, as well, placing fifth in the field of 18 at minus-4. All five starters managed scores in the 60s and 70s each round, avoiding any scores in the 80s for the first time since last fall's first event at Eastern Kentucky when they finished third in a field of 12.
Harris, a Trinity product, carded rounds of 72-68-71 in his first action since the ASUN Championship in April 2023. His 68 (minus-3) in the second round tied for his second-lowest stroke total in a round for his collegiate career. His low was a 66 (minus-5) in the second round of NKU's The Jewell, also in April 2023.
Luke Bischoff carried the momentum from his solid sophomore campaign over to his junior campaign with a minus-1 finish. He finished below par in three of 11 events last season.
Junior
Kash Albarado posted a 68 in his second round, good for the second-lowest stroke count for a round in his collegiate career. He finished the event at even-par.
In his first event since last October, senior
Davis Billows carded an even-par 71 in the third round after sitting at plus-2 and plus-3 after the first two rounds.
Redshirt freshman
Ben Wulkopf carded three rounds in the 70s in his collegiate debut and finished in the top half of the field, tied for 44
th.
The event's host, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, took home the team medal at minus-15, four shots better than second-place Wichita State. Bradley and Southern Illinois tied for third at minus-6, two strokes ahead of the fifth-place Knights.
Bradley junior Connor Hamm took home medalist honors at minus-13, three shots ahead of SIUE junior Brady Kaufman in second.
