KEWADIN, Mich. –
Presli Webb fired a pair of plus-3 75s en route to tying for seventh out of 84 players at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational over Labor Day weekend. It was the Bellarmine University women's golf team's first event of the 2024-25 season.
The Knights finished eighth out of 13 teams at the event at plus-78. They placed fourth in this same event a year ago at plus-42.
The finish for Webb, a sophomore, was easily the best of her young career. As a freshman, she tied for 21
st out of 77 players at the Braun Intercollegiate last October in Evansville, Ind., for her previous top placing. At A-Ga-Ming last September, she tied for 38
th out of 80 in her first collegiate action.
Geriann Ackermann and
Abigayle Buchanan tied for 24
th and 74
th, respectively, in their collegiate debuts.
Rozlyn Rooke had a strong showing, posting the Knights' low round of 74 (plus-2) in her second trip around the course on Sunday. She tied for 21
st overall at plus-18. The junior tied for 26
th at the event last fall.
Bradley University earned the team win with a plus-7 final round, the best team round of the event by six strokes. Host Central Michigan placed third while nearby Northern Kentucky finished 24 strokes behind Bellarmine in ninth.
Bradley junior Caroline McConnell captured medalist honors in a five-hole playoff with CMU's Ella Zanatta after the pair each finished 54 holes at plus-6.
