JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Bellarmine University's
Geriann Ackermann has been named the Atlantic Sun Golfer of the Week, the conference announced Thursday afternoon.
The sophomore becomes just the second Knight to be earn ASUN Golfer of the Week honors joining Alaina Schmitt, who earned the distinction once each in the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons.
Ackermann tied for ninth out of 82 golfers at the Butler Fall Invitational in Indianapolis for the best finish of her young career through 10 events.
The Assumption product improved each round at Highland Golf & Country Club, culminating with a -2 (68) in the final round Tuesday. The 68 marked the first round under par by a Knight this season and the best round by a Knight this season by strokes, besting
Rozlyn Rooke's +1 (73) in the final round at A-Ga-Ming.
Ackermann led the Knights by holing seven birdies, including five in the third round, for the sixth-most at the event. She also averaged 2.83 strokes on par 3s, tied for the lowest average.
