LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's basketball team will play in its second straight home game to open the 2025-26 campaign when the Knights welcome Morehead State for a 6:30 p.m. (ET) contest Friday.

Morehead State rallied within seven of Kentucky on a pair of occasions in the third quarter, but the Wildcats reeled off a 14-1 run to take hold of the contest for good. The Eagles knocked down 10 3-pointers in the matchup.
Marie Sepp barely missed a triple-double, racking up game highs in points (21) and assists (nine) while adding eight rebounds. Violet McNece drained four 3-pointers in contributing 15 points.
KNIGHTS NOTES
• Morehead State holds a 12-3 advantage in the all-time series against Bellarmine. However, the Knights own a 2-1 edge in the D1 era. BU captured a 68-61 home win in 2021-22 and a 76-70 road victory in 2024-25. In between, the Eagles secured a 63-59 home win in 2022-23.
• The bulk of the series took place in the 1970s and 1980s, with 12 of the matchups occurring from 1973-1988. Bellarmine won the first meeting, but Morehead State proceeded to win the next 11. The Knights snapped the losing streak when the series was revived in the D1 era.
• Last season's contest at Morehead State was a back-and-forth affair. Bellarmine built an 11-point lead midway through the second quarter, but by the end of the third, the Eagles held a 57-53 advantage. BU trailed by one with 45 seconds left, but the Knights took the lead on a pair of free throws and ultimately went 7-for-8 from the charity stripe in the last 37 seconds to pull away for a 68-61 win.
• This is the second of 13 home games this season for Bellarmine. BU has four contests in Knights Hall in November but none in December. Bellarmine does kick off the new year, though, with a Jan. 1 ASUN opener against Queens in Knights Hall.
• Bellarmine's win over Spalding came in the head-coaching debut of
Monique Reid, who was an assistant coach at BU for two seasons before being promoted after the retirement of Chancellor Dugan.
• Junior guard Trinity Ralston, a transfer from Southern Indiana, was in the vicinity of a triple-double against Spalding after amassing 13 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. The six helpers tied a career high, while the 10 boards were one shy of a career best.
• Senior guard
