Rooke finishes fourth, Knights place third at Nevel Meade Collegiate

PROSPECT, Ky. – Rozlyn Rooke finished fourth in the field of 38 at the conclusion of the two-round Nevel Meade Collegiate on Tuesday, helping Bellarmine to a third-place finish out of six teams.
 
The junior from Ontario carded rounds of 75 and 77 to finish at plus-8. She registered three birdies, as did teammates Presli Webb and Abigayle Buchanan, en route to her third time as the Knights' top finisher this season. Rooke also paced the Knights in their first spring event, the Huntsville.org Intercollegiate, and the Cardinal Cup.
 
Freshman Geriann Ackermann bounced back from a tough outing at Huntsville to finish eighth, the best performance of her young career. The Assumption High School product finished at plus-12 and carded a pair of birdies.
 
Six Knights placed in the top half of the 38-player field, including Piper Davis, who played as an individual and posted an event-best 11-stroke improvement between rounds.
 
As a team, the Knights' carded scores of 315 and 316 to place third at plus-55.
 
Lindenwood's Jamie Daniels took home medalist honors at plus-1, one stroke ahead of Evansville's Louise Standtke, helping the Lions to earn the team medal. Lindenwood finished at plus-33, three shots ahead of Evansville.

The Knights are off until April 7 and 8 when they head east to Richmond, Ky., for Eastern Kentucky's Colonel Classic at the University Club at Arlington.
