GREENVILLE, N.C. –
Ballard Harris posted his lowest score since the opening event of the fall, tying for 19
th in a field of 100 golfers Tuesday after the three-round ECU Intercollegiate.
The redshirt senior showed improvement with each round, carding successive scores of 77, 73 and 72 to finish at plus-6. (In that season opening event, Harris' first after missing a year of action, he finished at minus-2 at SIUE's Dolenc Invitational, tying for 18
th out of 99.) Harris holed 10 birdies, just two fewer than ECU's Drew O'Neal, who took home medalist honors at minus-5.
Also finishing in the top half of the field were senior
Davis Billows (T-32
nd at plus-12), playing in his first event since the Dolenc, and redshirt freshman
Ben Wulkopf (T-43
rd at plus-14). Billows was responsible for one of the event's 12 eagles, posting a 3 on the par-5 second hole in the first round on Monday.
Despite O'Neal's performance for the hosting Pirates, it was UCF who took home the team medal in the 16-team field at plus-8, 12 shots better than ECU.
Bellarmine placed 9
th at plus-46 and was sandwiched by ASUN foes Queens and West Georgia in eighth and 10
th, respectively. The Knights played well on par-3s, averaging an event best 3.17 strokes, but averaged 5.12 strokes on par-5s, 11
th in the field.

The Knights are off until April 7 and 8 when they head to Batavia, Ohio, to partake in Northern Kentucky's Jewell Invitational at Elks Run Golf Club.
