PADUCAH, Ky. – The Bellarmine men's golf team split a pair of match play matches Monday at the Carpenter-Chaney Classic.
The fourth-seeded Knights effectively finished third in the four-team event held at the Country Club of Paducah. Bellarmine dropped their opening round match against top-seeded SIU Edwardsville 6-0, but bounced back to take the second match against co-host and third-seeded Morehead State 4-2.
SIU Edwardsville won the event, defeating Tennessee-Martin, the other co-host, 4-2 in the first-place match.

Luke Bischoff,
Matthew Santini and
Riley Jude Bender earned points for the Knights in the consolation match with Santini enjoying the most lopsided win at 5&4.
Santini also led the Knights by holing seven birdies, second-most in the event. Bischoff and Bender were right behind him with six birdies and five birdies, respectively. Albarado finished with a team-high 20 pars.
