Women's tennis begins 2025-26 campaign with Bellarmine Alumni Invite

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine University women's tennis team is set to begin its 2025-26 season with the first of its five fall events as the Knights host the Bellarmine Alumni Invite September 20 to September 21 at the Eddie Weber Tennis Center.

Bellarmine will host Thomas More, Grace College and Oakland City for the two-day event. The Knights will first take on Thomas More at 9 am E.T. on Saturday, September 20 before the Saints face off against Grace College at 12:30 pm E.T. The day will conclude when the Knights take the court against the Lancers at 4 pm E.T. On Sunday, September 21, Bellarmine will host a doubleheader against Oakland City with match one starting at 9 am E.T. and match two beginning at 12:30 pm E.T.

The Knights return six players from last season, five of whom were part of BU's regular lineup. Sophomore Reese Parker led the team total wins with 17, racking up seven singles victories, second most, and 10 doubles wins, tied for the most on the team. Junior Marika Caruk was second on the team with 14 total wins, turning in 10 in doubles play, tied for most on the team, and four in singles action. Senior Vendula Kryslova registered 12 total wins on the year, notching five in singles and seven in doubles. Junior Lillie Willis rounds up the group of returners in double-digits last year, recording 11 total wins, highlighted by a team-best eight singles victories. Junior Nikola Kollaritsch, an ASUN All-Freshman selection two seasons ago, tallied five wins last season, four singles and a one doubles.
Additionally, junior Jai Garris is back for her third season.

Head coach Brian Slack added just one newcomer to his roster in Claudia Fusté Fernández, a freshman from Barcelona, Spain.
