LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Men's senior Zander Hooten and women's freshman Caysie Brady both shattered their own program records as Knights track and field competed Friday in the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.

Hooten placed first in the 60m hurdles in 7.96, which bested his previous program record of 7.99 set earlier this month at the Rod McCravy Memorial. He was also fifth in the 60m (7.11).

Brady set a new freshman program record in the weight throw, with her 15.98m heave topping her 14.92m toss from the previous week's Bellarmine Open. Brady placed third in the event and was followed by junior Haden Wolfe in fourth (15.43m).

Junior Amelia Svidal placed first among attached competitors, and second overall, in the women's triple jump with an 11.78m mark that was close to equaling her program record of 11.79m. Junior Annie Somwe (10.56m) placed right after Svidal in the event.

Junior Will Bracher was the runner-up in the men's seeded shot put (15.81m) and took third in the weight throw (16.22m). Sophomore Enrico Busato was fourth in the former event (13.57m) while freshman Martin Garcia was sixth in the latter event (14.39m).

Sophomore Grant King was the runner-up in the 200m (22.03) while freshman Taevion Sweeney placed fourth in the 60m hurdles (8.53) and sixth in the 400m (50.80). Freshman Marcelo Herald was also sixth in the long jump (6.40m).

Bellarmine's men had three athletes finish in the upper tier of the mile in sophomore Salah Farah (ninth, 4:18.34), freshman Jack Moutardier (14th, 4:20.58) and freshman Landen Fernandez (28th, 4:23.99). Junior Chase Austin (17th, 8:45.16) and freshman Jared Fairbanks (21st, 8:49.97) did as well in the 3000m.

Senior Jansen Story delivered a sixth in the women's 800m (2:22.21) while freshman Kate Alvis was seventh (26.14) and sophomore Grace Daily was 14th (27.42) as they finished in the upper half of the 200m.

Bellarmine will compete Jan. 30-31 in the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational at the Norton SLC.
