LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University lacrosse will conclude the season with a noon (ET) matchup Saturday with Queens in Atlantic Sun Conference action at the Queens Sports Complex.
Both the Knights (4-11, 0-4 ASUN) and Royals (4-8, 0-4) have been eliminated from ASUN Tournament contention and will look to end 2026 on a positive note. Utah (4-0 ASUN), Jacksonville (3-1), Air Force (3-1) and Mercer (2-2) secured the conference's postseason bids.

KNIGHTS NOTES
• Bellarmine holds a 3-0 lead over Queens in series history. In the most recent meeting, it took a major comeback effort to keep that perfect mark intact. In the 2025 regular-season finale at Frazier Stadium, the Knights trailed 8-4 after three quarters but rallied to an 11-10 victory after outscoring the Royals 7-2 in the final period. BU clinched an ASUN Tournament berth with the win.
• Bellarmine opened ASUN play with a 20-14 loss at Utah and most recently fell 27-7 at home to Jacksonville, but it was the two games in between in which the Knights could have truly changed their postseason fate. BU suffered back-to-back one-goal losses, first at 13-12 in OT to Air Force at home and then 18-17 at Mercer the following week.
• Bellarmine was trailing Jacksonville 4-2 early in the second quarter when man-down goals overwhelmed the Knights. A BU player was issued a 3-minute penalty, and the Dolphins proceeded to score six goals in a 2:20 span to take a 10-2 lead. Seven of those first 10 goals were of the man-up variety for Jacksonville, and the Knights were unable to recover from the second-quarter siege.
• Bellarmine has a pair of national leaders in senior attack
John Alie, who leads the country in total points (68), and sophomore GK
Nolan Hudnut, who tops the nation in total saves (203). The Knights nearly have a third: Sophomore attack
Ezra Moore is tied for second nationally in total assists (40), not to mention in total points (67, right behind Alie).
• Alie is tied for third in the nation in total goals (44), is ninth in goals per game (2.93) and is 15th in points per game (4.53). Moore ranks fifth in the country in assists per game (2.67) and 16th in points per game (4.47). Hudnut ranks fifth nationally in saves per game (13.53). The Knights have two players in the top 10 in total goals, as sophomore attack
Joe Alie, brother of John, is tied for seventh with 38 goals.
•
John Alie is the program's career leader in goals (146). He recently became just the second player in program history to record 200 career points and stands at 205 (Kyle Playsted's 222 is the record). Alie's 44 goals and his 68 points both rank third in a single season in program history. He's registered nine hat tricks this season. Alie tallied two goals and an assist against Jacksonville.
• Moore's 40 assists are a single-season program record while his 67 points rank fourth. The sophomore has already shot up to second all-time in career assists with 65 and to sixth in career points with 117. His three goals against Jacksonville marked his sixth hat trick of the season.
• Hudnut is the only GK in program history to record multiple 200-save seasons, and he's done it in his first two years as a Knight. Hudnut amassed a program-record 212 saves as a freshman in 2025. His 203 this season rank third in program history, just behind All-American Dillon Ward's 208 in 2013.
•
Joe Alie's 38 goals rank seventh in a single season in program history. In two years, he's accumulated 67 career goals, which ranks ninth all-time. Alie has notched nine hat tricks this season.
• Bellarmine ranks eighth in the country in shot percentage at .333.
