LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Bellarmine University women's soccer team opens up a two game road trip in Rolla, Mo. on Friday, Sept. 27 at 5 p.m. CDT (6 p.m. EDT) with their game against the Missouri S&T Miners. The Knights will then face Drury University on Sunday at noon CDT (1 p.m. EDT).

Bellarmine (3-3-1, 2-2 GLVC) enters the weekend riding their best performance of the season with a 2-0 shutout of #12 William Jewell College last Sunday. The Knights handed the Cardinals their first loss of the season and allowed just three shots in the match, holding WJC to 10 shots below their season average.

Bellarmine has won three of their last four matches, in which they have allowed just one goal.

With seven games in the books, the Knights lead the GLVC in several categories. Bellarmine has taken 133 shots this season, an average of 19.0 a game, best in the GLVC. BU has also scored more goals, 17, than any other team in the league, and their 2.43 goals per game mark is best in the conference.

Individually, freshman forward Mary Beth Gorham is tied for third in the country (and is best in the league) in shots, having blasted 38 over her seven games played. Her 5.43 shots per game lead the GLVC. Senior forward Chelsea McCarty is tied for first in the league in assists with four helpers on the season.

Missouri S&T (1-2-1, 1-2-1 GLVC) currently sits near the bottom of the Great Lakes Valley Conference standings. However, the Miners won their last match 1-0 over the University of Illinois Springfield on Sunday for their first win this season.

Three different players each have a goal for the Miners this season. Freshman Leah Camery leads the team in shots with 12.

The last time Bellarmine played Missouri S&T, the Knights took a 1-0 win.

Drury University (4-2-1, 2-1-1 GLVC) has won two straight games entering this weekend's games. The Panthers will face McKendree on Friday before hosting Bellarmine on Sunday. Drury has yet to win a home game this season. They tied Rockhurst and dropped a game to Abilene Christian.

Drury redshirt-sophomore forward Emily Cline leads the league with 14 points on a conference-best six goals and two assists in her seven games this season.

Bellarmine topped the Panthers 2-0 last season.
