Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The Bellarmine University men's basketball team picked its biggest win of the year on Friday night when they knocked off the No. 8 Indianapolis Greyhounds 90-74 in the quarterfinals of the Deaconess Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship in the Ford Center.

The Knights, who are the No. 6 seed, led from wire to wire as five players scored in double figures, led by Vance Hall with 26.

"The key to the game was that in the last eight minutes, we limited them to just two offensive rebounds," said Bellarmine Coach Scott Davenport.  "The two ways team can come back on you are three pointers and second chances, and we did good job of limiting them to just one shot."

The ninth year coach, who picked up win No. 200 with the victory, also credited the play of BU's "4" and "5" players.  "When we beat them(UIndy)  two weeks ago, we hit 14 of 21 threes, which is just an incredible number.  Tonight our inside players were 17 of 28, so we were able to get it done in a different way."

Jake Thelen, who leads the nation in field goal percentage, actually improved on his average hitting eight of 10 field goals and scored 18 points.  The junior big man came up huge in the final 10 minutes of the game, when—playing with four fouls—he contributed eight points, four rebounds and an assist.

Hall also was a major factor in the game's final minutes.  The senior guard salted  away the victory for the Knights by nailing all eight of his free throws in the game's final 1:51.

The Knights again put on an excellent shooting display shooting 55.6 percent from the field, which includes hitting 11 of 20 triples.  Bellarmine, as a team, also shot it well from the charity stripe, making 19 of 23 for 82.6 percent.

UIndy, which was the GLVC No. 3 seed, was led by Reece Cheatham's 17 points.  The left-handed guard nailed five of 11 treys, but was just one of six from two-point range. The Greyhounds, who figure to be a lock to advance to the NCAA Tournament, fall to 23-4 on the season.

Bellarmine, which improved to 22-6, advances to the GLVC semifinals on Saturday where they will meet Wisconsin-Parkside at 9:30 p.m. (ET).  The Rangers were 79-70 winners over Missouri-St. Louis on Friday.  The other semifinal pits Southern Indiana against Drury.
