Bellarmine hosts Concordia on Sunday

LOUISVILLE, Ky.—The Bellarmine field hockey weekend won't be a complete washout. Although Limestone was forced to cancel Saturday's scheduled game against the Knights, Bellarmine will still host Concordia (WI) on Sunday at 11 a.m.

The visiting Falcons have opened the year 3-0 and come into Owsley B. Frazier Stadium on the heels of playing at Earlham on Saturday.  Concordia, an NCAA Division III school, is in its third year of playing field hockey.  The Knights and Falcons squared off in their inaugural year of 2016 with Bellarmine taking a 7-1 victory at Frazier Stadium.

This season the Falcons are being led by freshman Megan McPike, who has five goals and two assists.  Junior Sam Dunn also has been productive for Concordia with four goals and one assist heading into the Earlham game.

On defense, another freshman is leading the charge for the Falcons. Katelyn Fitzgerald has played all 210 minutes in cage and sports a 3-0 record to go along with one shutout and a save percentage of .70.

Bellarmine enters 3-1 on the season with their lone loss coming at the hands of Bloomsburg, which has risen to No. 5 in the latest NFHCA rankings.  The Knights have gotten balanced scoring on the season with Mandi Isom and Merit Harris tied for the team lead with two goals apiece.  Six different players have delivered either a goal or an assist for BU this season.

Heather Gregory has played the lion's share of minutes in goal for the Knights this year and owns all four goalie decisions while piling up 23 saves and a recording a save percentage of .767.
