UNION, Ky.--The Bellarmine Knights found the nicer weather to be more to their liking as they shaved 11 strokes off their opening round in today's final 18 holes at the Northern Kentucky University Fall Classic at Lassing Pointe Golf Club. Bellarmine closed with a a score of 332 to finish the 36-hole, two-day event in eighth place at 675.
The Jaguars of IUPUI captured the team title by braving yesterday's less-than-ideal weather conditions to shoot a 292, then held off the field by closing with a 304 to win by 12 shots over runner-up Dayton. Leading the charge for IUPUI were Marion Debove and Amelie Svejda, who finished first and second in the field with scores of 143 (-1) and 144 (E).
For the Knights, freshman
Caroline McCrorey carded a final round 76 to snag a top 20 finish, tying for 17th in the 56-player field with an aggregate score of 158. (Complete Bellarmine results in box score below.)
Bellarmine closes out the fall portion of its schedule this coming Monday and Tuesday at the Trevecca Nazarene Invitational, which is being played in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
