LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Bellarmine University track and field teams competed Friday and Saturday in the Jim Green Invitational at the University of Kentucky's Nutter Fieldhouse.
On the men's side at the Division I-heavy event, senior
Benton Stone notched an NCAA provisional in the pole vault with a vault of 5.05 meters. Grouped with the performances recorded nationally heading into this weekend, Stone's vault would rank second in the country.
Stone also secured an NCAA provisional (4.91) in the UIndy Season Opener on Dec. 6. In addition to the pole vault, where he placed third, Stone qualified for the semifinals in the 60 hurdles at UK.
Sophomore
Parker Terry finished in the top half of the field in the 800, placing 12th out of 28 competitors. Junior
Reid Masterson did the same in the 3000, finishing 11th out of 27.
On the women's side, senior
Ashley Reyna-Padilla finished in the top half of the field in the 400, placing 15th out of 34 competitors.
Bellarmine will compete Saturday in the Indianapolis Collegiate Challenge.
