LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Knights women's track and field team had a strong showing Friday at the Bellarmine Open "Presented by Urban Shipper" at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
Senior
Emily Tuma was the runner-up and freshman
Lauren DeBold placed fourth in the weight throw. Freshman
Katie Monheimer captured third in the shot put.
Freshman
Chloe Freilinger placed third in the 400 and eighth in the 34-member 200, which also saw junior
Jenna Walker finish in the top half at 17th. Sophomore
Kendal Gibbons placed fourth in both the triple jump and 60 hurdles, with Walker taking fifth in the latter.
Sophomore
Chloe Powell and senior
Lauren Masden finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 800, and Masden also placed ninth out of 45 in the mile, where junior
Emma Wells secured 16th as well.
Freshmen
Hannah Ellis (15th) and
Erin Luckett (17th) both placed in the top half of the 35-member 3000.
Bellarmine will not change locations next Friday. The Knights will compete in the Tiger Paw Invitational hosted by Campbellsville University at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
