LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Knights track and field will host the Bellarmine Open on Friday at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
Action is set to begin at 10 a.m. (ET) with the weight throw and long jump. This is the first of two straight meets the Knights will host at the Norton SLC, with the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic to follow quickly on Jan. 23.
Teams expected to be represented alongside Bellarmine are Louisville, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Southern Indiana, Marshall, Asbury, Campbellsville, Cumberlands (Ky.), Hanover, Huntington (Ind.), Lindsey Wilson, Midway, Shawnee State, Simmons College of Kentucky, Spalding, Transylvania and Vincennes.
Bellarmine competed with a partial squad last Friday and Saturday in the University of Kentucky-hosted Rod McCravy Memorial at Norton SLC. Senior
Zander Hooten established a new men's indoor program record in the 60m hurdles, twice besting his own previous record of 8.06 with a 7.99 in the semifinals and an 8.04 in the finals.
The 7.99 ranks first in the ASUN. Hooten is the reigning men's ASUN Track Performer of the Week.
