LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University track and field is hitting the homestretch of the indoor regular season with the arrival of the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational, the University of Louisville-hosted event that will unfold Friday and Saturday at the Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
The Knights are coming off the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic, the middle meet of seven regular-season competitions before the Feb. 27-28 ASUN Indoor Championship, which BU will host at Norton SLC.
Senior
Zander Hooten is the reigning men's ASUN Track Performer of the Week, garnering the award for the second time this season. Hooten placed first in the 60m hurdles at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic and is ranked third (7.96) in the ASUN in the event.
Bellarmine's men have three throwers ranked in the conference's top eight of the shot put in sophomore
Will Bracher (third, 15.81m), freshman
Dylan Forster (fifth, 15.65m) and junior
Enrico Busato (eighth, 13.92m). Bracher is also ranked fourth in the weight throw (16.73m).
Senior
Jackson Gordon is ranked second in the 400m (48.18) and sophomore
Grant King is ninth (49.17). King is fifth in the 200m (22.03), freshman
Tola Taiwo is seventh in the triple jump (13.90m), senior
Zac Hutslar is eighth in the long jump (6.79m), freshman
Landen Fernandez is 10th in the 800m (1:58.39) and junior
Carter Olmsted is 10th in the 60m hurdles (8.34).
King, freshman
Tucker Smith, Hutslar and Gordon are atop the 4x400 relay rankings (3:16.54).
Junior
Amelia Svidal is ranked fourth in the ASUN in the women's triple jump (11.79m) and sixth in the long jump (5.48m). Junior
Aubrey Lane is fifth in the 800m (2:16.61) and
Caysie Brady is 10th in the weight throw (15.98), setting a new freshman program record at the PNC Bank Bellarmine Classic.
