LOUISVILLE, Ky. -  Bellarmine sprint football is undefeated through its first three games in program history, and the individual accolades have certainly followed.

For the third consecutive week, a Bellarmine player has earned a weekly award from the Midwest Sprint Football League.  This time, Brenden Reid was announced as the MSFL Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Along with his offensive contributions as Bellarmine's leading rusher and receiver this season, Reid is also one of Bellarmine's best defensive presences.  This past weekend, Reid made the biggest play of the game, intercepting a Quincy pass and returning it 43 yards for a touchdown to seal the Knights' 12-0 victory on the road.  He also compiled a team-best 11 tackles and 2.5 tackles for loss in the win.  Through three weeks, Reid has already earned MSFL Offensive POW and Defensive POW honors.

Bellarmine and the entire MSFL has a scheduled bye-week.  The Knights' next game is on Saturday, Oct. 15 versus Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods at 1:00 p.m.
