ATLANTA — Bellarmine University junior
Anna Wells was among 12 honored on the ASUN All-Academic Team for women's outdoor track and field, the league announced Friday.
Wells becomes the first women's athlete in program history to earn the ASUN outdoor academic award.
An accounting and psychology major, Wells carried a perfect 4.0 GPA. On the track, she scored in the 10000 at the ASUN Outdoor Championships after placing eighth. Wells placed third in the 5000 at the University of Louisville's Clark Wood Invitational.
Kennesaw State's Katie Meyer was voted ASUN Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Joining Meyer and Wells on the All-Academic Team were Eastern Kentucky's Jone Zabaleta Larranaga, Jacksonville's, Pashen Williams, Kennesaw State's Sarah Hendrick, Liberty's Isis Brooks, Grace Dwyer, Mackenzie Hainley and Taylen Langin, and Lipscomb's Merabu Nagwandala, Anna Richardson and Ally Suyak.
