LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's soccer team will cap a three-game ASUN homestand when the Knights welcome Eastern Kentucky for a 1 p.m. (ET) clash Sunday in Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.

Bellarmine (0-3-6, 0-0-2 ASUN) and Eastern Kentucky (5-2-1, 1-0-1) met for the first time in the Division-I era last season. The Knights captured a 1-0 road win to close the regular season, a victory that sealed a berth in the ASUN Tournament. Bellarmine and EKU both advanced to the conference semifinals.

Although Bellarmine is still seeking its first ASUN win, the Knights were productive in regard to the league standings over their first two conference matches, earning a point apiece with draws against Central Arkansas and North Alabama.

Bellarmine is leading the nation in ties over the last two seasons with 14 in 28 matches. The Knights amassed a nation-high eight in 2021, and, after last weekend's action, they were second in the country this year with six stalemates. VCU entered the week with seven ties.

Bellarmine heads into the Eastern Kentucky contest coming off three consecutive draws. It's the second stretch this season of three straight stalemates for the Knights, who tied IUPUI, Purdue Fort Wayne and Northern Kentucky in matches 2-4.

Eastern Kentucky will arrive at Frazier Stadium on a hot streak, as the Colonels are 4-0-1 over their last five matches. They've accumulated four points in two games in ASUN play with a scoreless tie against North Alabama followed by a 3-2 win over Central Arkansas, both at home.

Maddy Lemery is pacing Eastern Kentucky with three goals, while Myla Sharpless and Kylie Fitzgerald have netted two apiece. Lauren Seedlock has spent every minute in goal for the Colonels, posting two shutouts, a 1.38 goals-against average and .776 save percentage.

Although Bellarmine has been shut out six times this season, the Knights' attack has been much more dangerous over its last two matches. Bellarmine set a new season high in shots against Central Arkansas with 12 and then bested that mark with 14 the next game against North Alabama. The Knights had not produced a double-digit shot output in their first seven contests.

Elyssa Francis registered her 30th career shutout in goal against North Alabama. The senior goalkeeper is five clean sheets away from tying program leader Amy Kunowski's 35. Fellow senior Sarah Kraus has yet to leave the field this season, playing all 810 possible minutes on the year while at center back.
