LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University track and field opened the indoor season Saturday in the Commonwealth Classic at Norton Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
Senior
Ike Boling placed first in the men's 600 after finishing in 1:22.07. Sophomore
Jackson Gordon took fifth in the 1000 and set a new program record by finishing in 2:34.14, which topped Parker Terry's 2:34.33 from the 2020 Indiana Wesleyan's Midwest Classic. Freshman
Ashton Noble was sixth in the weight throw.
Amelia Svidal set two new women's freshman program records. Her 11.38 in the triple jump bested Sarah McMurchie's 11.23 from the 2016 UIndy Season Opener, as did her 5.30 in the long jump, which topped Keirra Porter's 5.29 from the 2016 GLVC Championships. She placed fifth and 15th in the events.
Sophomore
Alysia Hurtado was third in the women's weight throw and sixth in the shot put. Sophomore
Avery Koch was fifth in the shot put.
Freshman
Emma Harwick took ninth in the high jump, sophomore
Jansen Story placed 10th in the 600 and junior
Chloe Freilinger was 11th in the 300.
The Knights are off from competition until hosting the Bellarmine Open on Jan. 19.
