LYNCHBURG, Va. — Bellarmine University track and field delivered multiple medal-winning performances Saturday on the final day of the ASUN Indoor Championship at Liberty Indoor Track Complex.
Bellarmine had the runner-up finish in the 400 in both races. Sophomore
Chloe Freilinger (55.59) took the silver on the women's side, as did freshman
Jackson Gordon on the men's side while breaking his own program record after finishing in 47.68.
Senior
Katrina Kamarute also medaled in the women's 400, capturing the bronze after placing third in 55.59. Junior
Ike Boling (48.79) and sophomore
Trevor Holbrook (49.61) finished sixth and eighth, respectively, while also scoring in the men's 400.
Freshman
Sloan Cox (16.74) secured fourth in the men's shot put. Freshman
Zander Hooten (8.36) scored as well in the 60 hurdles after placing sixth.
Bellarmine's men's 4x400 relay earned the bronze in the 4x400 relay. Holbrook, senior
Ryan Hawkins, Boling and Gordon placed third in 3:17.61.
The Knights women's 4x400 relay of Kamarute, sophomore
Naimah Slaughter, junior
Avery Hedden and Freilinger scored with a fifth-place finish in 3:49.25.
Bellarmine's men placed sixth of eight with 34 points, which was a 24-point jump from last season. The Knights women placed ninth of 11 with 21 points, a 17-point increase from last year.
Liberty swept the team titles with 235 points in the men's meet and 171 in the women's meet.
