LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University women's tennis team will compete in three matches this week.
On Friday, Bellarmine (4-6) will welcome Marian (8-3) to the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex for a 9 a.m. (ET) contest before traveling 4 miles down the road to face Louisville (4-2) at 4 p.m. The Knights will then travel to Mississippi State (6-1) for a 4 p.m. showdown Sunday.
Marian, an NAIA program located in Indianapolis, won eight straight matches before falling 4-2 to No. 17 Indiana Wesleyan in the Crossroads League Tournament Championship.
Three of Louisville's four wins this season have come against Atlantic Sun Conference colleagues of Bellarmine. The Cardinals defeated the ASUN's Eastern Kentucky and Kennesaw State by matching 6-1 scores and downed Austin Peay 5-2. U of L is coming off a 5-2 victory over Furman.
Mississippi State will host Louisiana on Friday and Baylor on Sunday ahead of its meeting with Bellarmine. The Bulldogs opened the season with six straight wins before being edged 4-3 at Memphis.
Bellarmine, which most recently posted a 6-1 victory over Tennessee State, has been paced in singles play by sophomore
Vendula Kryslova and freshman
Nikola Kollaritsch with eight wins apiece. Kryslova has collected 10 doubles victories while Kollaritsch and freshman
Erica Kanna Hagi have nine each.
