GAINESVILLE, Fla. — The Bellarmine University men's distance medley relay team captured a silver medal to highlight the first day of action at the ASUN Indoor Championship on Friday at the Alachua County Sports and Events Center.

Chase Atkins earned second-team All-ASUN accolades after finishing as the runner-up in the DMR in 9:49.27. That established a new program record after breaking the previous 9:53.76 set last season at the GVSU Big Meet by Atkins, Gordon, Hester and
Trevor Holbrook.

Naimah Slaughter collected four points for the Bellarmine women after placing fifth in the pentathlon. Sophomore
Alysia Hurtado added another point after placing eighth in the weight throw.
The second and final day of the ASUN Indoor Championship begins at 8:30 a.m. (ET) Saturday.
