LEXINGTON, Ky. — Sophomore
Sloan Cox pushed his streak of setting a new men's program record in the shot put to four straight weeks at the University of Kentucky's Jim Green Invitational.
Cox's latest toss of 17.00 meters bested his 16.57 heave at the Cougar Classic. Cox placed seventh in the event.
Bellarmine's men had three more top-10 finishes. Senior
Ike Boling placed ninth in the 400, as did senior
Josh Smalley in the 5000 and freshman
Chase Austin in the 1500.
Junior
Josh Meiman (14th), freshman
Nolan White (16th) and freshman
Jimmy Dillabaugh (25th) also finished in the top half of the 1500, as did Boling (27th) and sophomore
Zac Hutslar (28th) in the 200.
On the women's side, freshman
Amelia Svidal placed 10th in the long jump and junior
Naimah Slaughter tied for 11th in the high jump. Sophomore
Alysia Hurtado finished in the top half of the hammer throw (15th), as did junior
Chloe Freilinger in the 400 (16th) and sophomore
Jansen Story in the 800 (21st).
Freshman
Raven Payne (35th) and Slaughter (t-38th) placed in the upper half of the 200.
Bellarmine will compete Friday and Saturday in the University of Louisville's Clark Wood Invitational.
