CONWAY, Ark. — Bellarmine University track and field scored in a pair of events and numerous other Knights stamped tickets to the finals Friday on the second day of the ASUN Outdoor Championship at host Central Arkansas' Richard Martin Jr. Track and the Bill Stephens Soccer Complex.
Junior
Naimah Slaughter tied for fifth while earning three points in the women's high jump (1.65). Junior
Luke Wunsch secured a point in the men's discus (40.74) after placing eighth.
Sophomore
Taylor White set a new women's program record in the 3000 steeplechase after finishing in 11:03.83, which bested Kristin Geiger's longstanding 11:10.97 from the 2009 Billy Hayes Invitational.
Junior
Chloe Freilinger (55.48) and freshman
Raven Payne (55.70) both qualified for the finals in the 400, as did Slaughter (14.24) and freshman
Jacey Harding (14.77) in the 100 hurdles.
Sophomore
Jackson Gordon (47.27) and senior
Ike Boling (48.08) advanced to the finals in the men's 400, as did freshmen
Clinton Bass (14.69) and
Carter Olmsted (15.15) in the 110 hurdles and sophomore
Alex Hooten (1:51.13) in the 800.
The three-day event concludes Saturday.
