Alex Hooten and sophomore
Amelia Svidal set new Bellarmine University track and field indoor program records as the Knights competed Friday and Saturday at the Rod McCravy Memorial at North Healthcare Sports & Learning Center.
Hooten placed third in the men's 1000, and his 2:28.02 bested the previous indoor program record of 2:34.13 set by teammate
Jackson Gordon at the 2023 Commonwealth Classic.
Svidal posted a 11.66 in the women's triple jump, which topped the previous indoor record of 11.59 set by Sarah McMurchie at the 2018 Indianapolis Winter Break Meet.
Junior
Jackson Gordon was the runner-up in the men's 600 (1:18.91), as was junior
Chase Atkins in the mile (4:11.31).
Senior
Chloe Freilinger placed fourth in the women's 600 (1:34.45), and senior
Trisha Sexton placed in the top half of the 3000 after finishing 10th (10:17.17).
The Knights will host the Bellarmine Open on Friday at the Norton SLC.
