WEST TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Bellarmine sprint football team faces unbeaten Saint Mary-of-the-Woods Saturday to conclude the regular season. Kickoff from Jay Barret Field is set for 3 p.m. ET (2 p.m. CT).
 
Bellarmine's (3-3) postseason fate has already been determined. After facing SMWC (5-0) this Saturday, the Knights will return to Louisville and then go right back to SMWC for the MSFL semifinals on November 8, also at 3 p.m. ET.
 
About Saint Mary-of-the-Woods
The Pomeroys are coming off a 47-20 win against Quincy in which they rushed for 286 yards, threw for 190 more and held the Hawks to just 268 total yards. Junior Derron Hazzard had a solid game, rushing for 71 yards and one score. Senior Jeremiah Tosky threw for 188 yards and a pair of touchdowns. On defense, Adonimi Parker had three sacks and 17.0 total tackles while Brodi Smith added a pair of sacks.
 
Overall, SMWC leads the MSFL in scoring at 47.6 points per game and is third in points allowed a 21.8. The offense averages 254.8 passing yards and 155.6 rushing yards, second and third in the MSFL, respectively. Tosky is second in the league both averaging 244.6 yards through the air and with 12 passing touchdowns. The rushing duo of Hazzard and Zy'Eiar White have combined to average 91.8 yards per game and have found paydirt eight total times.
 
On the other side of the ball for SMWC, Parker is tied for the MSFL lead with 5.0 sacks and Byran Simmons is tied for the league lead with five interceptions.
 
The Pomeroys are one of two unbeatens along with Calumet. The two met on Oct. 18, but the game was cancelled shortly after it started due to severe weather.
 
Knights Knotes

• With a win, Bellarmine can secure their fourth straight regular season above .500.
• Bellarmine is 1-2 all-time against SMWC. Last year, SMWC defeated Bellarmine 54-26 in a high-scoring affair, one year after winning 56-50 in double overtime.
• RB Brenden Reid is 2nd in the MSFL averaging 88.3 rushing yards and is tied for 2nd with five rushing scores.
• When the Knights return to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods for their semifinals game on November 8, it will mark the first time Bellarmine has played the same opponent in back-to-back games.
