LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Junior
Jackson Gordon placed first in the men's 400 meters at the Ole Miss Classic as Bellarmine University track and field opened its 2025 outdoor season.
The Knights had athletes compete Friday in the Eastern Kentucky Invite, and Friday and Saturday in the Ole Miss Classic.
At the latter, Gordon topped the 25-competior 400 in 47.25. Sophomore
Alex Cole placed in the top half of the discus in seventh (44.87), as did sophomore
James Bronzwaig in the hammer throw (ninth, 52.07), junior
Zac Hutslar (10th, 21.78) and Gordon (14th, 21.92) in the 200, and Hutslar again in the 100 (12th, 11.03).
Junior
Jansen Story placed fifth in the women's 800 (2:19.16) at the Ole Miss Classic, and sophomore
Annie Somwe finished in the top half of the long jump in ninth (5.41).
Bellarmine will have athletes competing in three meets this coming weekend: NC State's Raleigh Relays, Western Kentucky's Brent Chumbley Memorial Hilltopper Relays and the UAB Spring Invite.
