Shelby Smith,
Clara Spurlock,
Sophie Roebel and

ABOUT WRIGHT STATE
Bellarmine and Wright State (1-4) are meeting for the third time in the D1 era. The teams played to a 1-1 draw in Dayton in 2021 before the Raiders secured a 2-1 victory in Louisville in 2022. WSU is coming off consecutive 2-1 losses to Marshall at home and Valparaiso on the road. The Raiders own a 4-0 win over Fairmont State. Caitlin Burger and Ruby Dunlevy have tallied two goals apiece.
ABOUT SOUTHERN INDIANA
Bellarmine and Southern Indiana (1-5) are former D2 archrivals and rekindled the series last season at the D1 level, with the Screaming Eagles pulling out a 2-1 home win. USI hosts Valparaiso tonight and is looking to continue its momentum built from a 2-0 home win Sunday over Southern Illinois. The Screaming Eagles have scored six goals over the last three games, including a trio against Akron. Six different players accounted for those goals.
KNIGHTS NOTES:
• The Wright State match marks Bellarmine's second on the road in 2025. The Knights posted an 11-0 win at D3 Asbury on Aug. 23 while tying program records for goals (11) and assists (eight) and setting new program records for points (30) and shots (53). Wright State does start a stretch of five road games over the next six contests for BU.
• Bellarmine is coming off one of its most notable wins in program history. On Sunday, the Knights defeated visiting Indiana 2-1, a victory that represented its first-ever over a Power 4 program in the D1 era. As far as name recognition, the Hoosiers were certainly the most prominent opponent BU has ever hosted.
• Bellarmine's D1-era record for wins is five, set last season. At 3-0-1 in the first season under
Steve Bornhoffer, the Knights are more than halfway to matching that total through four games.
• Bellarmine is the lone remaining unbeaten team in the ASUN. There's three one-loss teams (EKU, North Alabama, FGCU) entering Thursday. The Knights were picked 10th of 12 in the ASUN preseason coaches' poll.
•
Anna Jenkins was named ASUN Goalkeeper of the Week on Tuesday after racking up a career-high nine saves in a 1-1 draw against 2024 Horizon League runner-up Northern Kentucky and five more in the win over Indiana. It was the second time this season the redshirt freshman was honored with the award, with the first coming after an eight-save shutout in BU's 2-0 victory over Miami (OH).
•
McKenzie Carle recorded Bellarmine's first goal against Indiana. It was the second goal of the season for the sophomore forward, who last season was recognized as the ASUN Freshman of the Year and first-team All-ASUN.
•
Katie Paulakonis accounted for the game-winning goal against Indiana. It was the team-high third goal of the season for the freshman forward. Before arriving at Bellarmine, Paulakonis was twice named Best XI of the Women's Premier Soccer League.
•
Clara Spurlock assisted on Paulakonis' game-winner against Indiana. It was the second helper of the senior forward's career.
• Bornhoffer has deployed plenty of youth. Of the team's 13 leaders in minutes played, 10 are either freshmen or sophomores. Those players have accounted for 31 starts, with BU's customary starting lineup thus far containing eight freshmen or sophomores.
