LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University lacrosse raised a total of $2,800 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Donate Life as part of its charity duel fundraiser during the 2025-26 academic year.
The program raised $1,800 for the NBCF and $1,000 for Donate Life.
During head coach Andy Whitley's tenure, the program has raised $11,200 for the NBCF. This past academic year was the first time the Knights partnered with Donate Life.
Funds were raised by the sale of Bellarmine lacrosse T-shirts co-branded separately with the charities in the fall at an intrasquad scrimmage and scrimmage at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium.
Seniors
Nick Ferge and
Grant Crossley spearheaded the campaigns.
"Being able to contribute to something bigger than ourselves has meant a lot to our team," Ferge said. "Breast cancer has impacted so many lives, and raising awareness and funds is just one small way we can show support. It's been really special to see everyone come together for a cause that goes beyond the game."
"Working with Donate Life was amazing and a great way to spread awareness about a cause that helps so many people and is very important to myself! I chose Donate Life because of my late friend Billy Lowe, who passed in 2020 and was a Donor. It was a great way to honor him and his family," Crossley said. "It was great to see our team wearing the shirts with the logo knowing that everything was going to such a great organization. I also want to add that working with Emily Miller and her team was great, and I am super happy that our work is going to the Kentucky chapter!"
