LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced today that Bellarmine University was among 1,432 teams earning the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2025 season.

The award, initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or 4.10 on a 5.0 scale.

BU earned the honor for the sixth time in program history and for the first time since 2023.

"It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "We are grateful for the dedication of the coaches and players who make both classroom and on-court success the lifeblood of their programs."

Bellarmine was also honored as with the Team Academic Honor Roll distinction for holding a team GPA in the top 20 percent of Division I volleyball programs.

The Knights posted an impressive team GPA of 3.70 for the 2025-26 academic year. Kylie Van Hoy was named the ASUN Volleyball Scholar Athlete of the Year while four Knights earned Academic All-ASUN honors with three being named to the College Sport Communicators Academic All-District Team. Overall, 14 players on the 2025 team were named to the ASUN Academic Honor Roll.
