KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Bellarmine University men's soccer's Johan Nissen-Lie was recognized among the forwards on the United Soccer Coaches' Players to Watch list for the 2026 Missouri Athletic Club Hermann Trophy.

A junior on the Knights, Nissen-Lie last season was named ASUN co-Player of the Year, first-team All-ASUN and second-team All-Atlantic Region. The native of Asker, Norway, was also acknowledged on the ASUN All-Tournament Team.

In his breakout sophomore campaign, Nissen-Lie led the ASUN in goals (10), points (20), shots (49) and shots on goal (22). All were Division-I era program records.

Nissen-Lie notched three goals in six conference games and another in the ASUN Tournament. He supplied a goal in both games against Queens and another against Central Arkansas in ASUN play while locating the net against North Florida in the ASUN Tournament finals. In nonconference action, he recorded the program's first hat trick in the D1 era after piling up three goals against Spalding while accounting for one goal each against Evansville, UNC Asheville and Bowling Green.

The United Soccer Coaches' positional announcements lead up to the 2026 watch lists for the prestigious MAC Hermann Trophy, which is presented annually to the Division I National Players of the Year as voted by Division I College Coaches at the end of the regular season. The 2026 recipients will be announced on Jan. 8, 2027, in St. Louis.
