4/16/2011 11:14:08 PM

GENEVA, N.Y.—The home-standing Hobart Statesmen finished strong on senior night, outscoring the Bellarmine Knights 5-2 in the fourth quarter to get the 13-10 ECAC Lacrosse victory tonight at Boswell Field.

Throughout the game, the Knights had a difficult time gaining possessions as Hobart won 22 of 27 face-offs. Despite the disparity, Bellarmine was still in a position to compete for their first conference victory, heading into the final period in an 8-8 tie.

The Knights were led by trio of players with three points apiece. Colton Clark and Cameron Gardener each had two goals and an assist, and Karsen Leung had two assists and one goal. The Statesmen were paced by Chris Pedersen and Sam Miller who each rang up three goals on the night.

Senior Scott Bowles played all 60 minutes in goal for the Knights, registering eight saves but also picking up the loss. Hobart's Evan Kirk picked up the win after collecting 10 saves in his 60 minutes between the pipes.
Bellarmine falls to 4-9 on the season with an 0-4 ECAC mark. The Statesmen improve to 5-6, 2-2 ECAC.

The Knights return home to Owsley B. Frazier Stadium for their final two games of the season, hosting the University of Denver on Saturday, April 23 at 11 a.m., and Ohio State University at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 30.
