LOUISVILLE, Ky. --- The 17 senior members of the Bellarmine University lacrosse program had their final home game at Owsley B. Frazier stadium spoiled by Hobart College, as the Statesman rallied late to steal the a 14-13 contest in Eastern College Athletic Conference action.

Bellarmine(3-7, 0-6 ECAC) owned an 11-8 lead after three quarters, but Hobart (3-7 1-3 ECAC) scored six goals in the fourth period to take the game. The rally coincided with a 33 minute delay between the end of the third quarter and the start of the fourth due to inclement weather in the area.
Offensively,
Michael Ward registered his fourth hat trick of the season to lead Bellarmine, with Bright, Clark, and Ohara getting two goals apiece. Ward also chipped in an assist to collect four points on the day.
On the other side of the field, the BU defense could not contain the duo of Alex Love and Taylor Vanderbeek, who scored nine of Hobart's 13 goals. Vanderbeek found the back of net four times to go along with an assist while Love finished with five goals, three of which came in the decisive fourth period.
Junior
Will Cary opened the scoring in the game on an unassisted goal with 11:01 to go in the first period. Tight throughout the opening half, Bellarmine headed to the break up one, 7-6. The Knights stayed in front for the entirety of the third period, stretching the margin out to four as Clark took a pass from Cary and beat Hobart keeper Peter Zonio to take an 11-7 lead.
Vanderbeek then scored the final goal of the third, and the first of the fourth as the Statesmen reeled off seven straight goals to change the tide of the game for good. With Hobart up 14-11, Ward and Bright scored goals in the games' final two minutes, but Bellarmine could not climb all the way back.
Hobart also played the entire 60-minute game penalty-free, while Bellarmine was whistled for four penalties, including a costly delay of game penalty in the fourth which led to a man up goal by Hobart's Sam Miller.
In goal, junior
Dillon Ward made a season-high 17 saves to keep the Knights in the game, but ultimately took the loss.
Bellarmine returns to action next Saturday as they hit they travel to Detroit-Mercy for a nonconference matchup, first faceoff is set for noon.
