BELLEVILLE, Ill. -- The Bellarmine University men's tennis team dropped a pair of Great Lakes Valley Conference matchups in the first weekend of their season's final road trip. The Knights fell, 3-6, at Saint Joseph's College on Friday, April 11 and lost, 4-5, at McKendree University on Saturday morning, April 12.

Despite the losses, freshman Zachary Kuo went unbeaten in his four matches. On Friday, Kuo knocked off Seth Arthur of Saint Joseph's, 6-2, 6-1, in the number two singles position and paired with Jose Legarreta for an 8-3 doubles win. A day later, the freshman again won an 8-3 doubles matchup with Legarreta and sealed his solid weekend with a 7-6, 6-4 win over Aleix Alvarez.

Legarreta went 3-for-4 on the weekend. He and Kuo combined for five of Bellarmine's seven wins.

The Knights fall to 6-10 and 1-5 in the GLVC on the season. 

Bellarmine will take on Asbury University in Wilmore, Ky. on Monday, April 14 at 4:00 p.m. and will finish the season with a match at Indiana University Southeast on Wednesday, April 16.

The Knights have been eliminated from postseason play contention as they sit outside of the top eight positions in the GLVC standings.

GLVC Tournament play will begin Friday, April 18.
