Zachary Kuo and sophomore
Lauren de Boeck won a pair of matches apiece, but the Bellarmine University men's tennis team was edged 4-5 by Carson-Newman on Friday at the University of Louisville.
The Knights (0-4) captured two of the three doubles matches, but the Eagles (1-2) secured the contest by winning four of the six singles matches.
Kuo and fellow senior
Jose Legarreta dominated 8-1 over Stefano Daza/Rodolpho Schwarz at No. 1 doubles. Kuo also defeated Schwarz at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
De Boeck teamed with sophomore
L.J. Allara to notch an 8-6 win over Jesus Barcete/Kevin Mendes at No. 3 doubles, and de Boeck defeated Barcete 7-5, 7-5 at No. 5 singles.
Bellarmine plays Missouri-St. Louis and Truman State on Sunday in St. Louis.
