LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Bellarmine University's
Aaron McAndrew was named Midwest Region Coach of the Year for the women's indoor season, the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced.
The regional accolade follows McAndrew's selection as the Great Lakes Valley Conference Coach of the Year. The Knights captured the league crown at the GLVC Indoor Championships after edging four-time defending champion Lewis by four points.
In addition to the team triumph, the Knights combined to win GLVC titles in six events. Senior
Meghan Roby won the 60 and 200, senior
Amanda Schnabel placed first in the 60 hurdles and junior
Yashira Rhymer-Stuart topped the competition in the high jump. Bellarmine also finished first in the distance medley relay and the 4x400 relay, clinching the team championship in the latter event.
Bellarmine earned invitations to the NCAA Championships in six individual events and two relays.
