Bellarmine concludes 3-game road swing on Saturday at Robert Morris

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine Knights men's lacrosse team will travel to Moon Township, Pennsylvania this weekend to take on the Colonials of Robert Morris at Joe Walton Stadium.

The Knights look to avenge their loss to the Colonials in last year's season opener at Owsley B. Frazier Stadium. Quick goals by both side resulted in a 1-1 game before Robert Morris exploded for six straight goals to take a commanding lead that ended in a 15-9 win for the visiting team. However, Bellarmine still leads the all-time series against Robert Morris with a record of 8-4 in 12 matchups.

This season, both teams are searching for their first win. Bellarmine (0-3) fell to Wagner in its home opener before falling to Marquette and Cleveland State on the road.

Robert Morris (0-2) has suffered losses to two top-25 teams so far this season, dropping games to Penn State in their season opener and to Georgetown last weekend.

The Knights continue to be led on offense by sophomore Landon Trout and junior Morgan Macko, who have each tallied eight points so far on the young season. Trout leads the team with six goals, followed by Macko with five.  Luke Legnard, who turned in a hat trick last week, is next with four goals. Senior Stephen Votto has also contributed six points (3 goals, 3 assists) on the season.

The Colonials are led offensively by senior Tyson Gibson and junior Ryan Smith, who have scored four goals apiece. Gibson has added a pair of assists and Smith has added one.

Defensively, junior Jordan Dondoyano received his first start of the season in goal last week for Bellarmine, making 17 saves in the loss to Cleveland State. Senior Josh Wehn leads the Knights with seven caused turnovers on the year.

Alex Heger is the lead man in goal for Robert Morris. Heger has started both games this season, making 24 saves in 98 minutes of action. Chris Reynolds has also seen action in goal and has made 3 saves in 22 minutes.

At the faceoff position, J.T. Simonton has won 23 of 59 faceoffs on the year for the Knights, while Trey Arnold has won 28 of 51 for the Colonials.

The game is scheduled for a noon start on Saturday.
