LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Bellarmine lacrosse team will look to win its third straight game this weekend as the Knights travel to Greenville, South Carolina to take on the Furman Paladins.
Bellarmine (2-8, 2-2) enters this weekend having won their last two games. They defeated Mercer in a high-scoring affair 16-13 and followed that with a nail-biting 13-12 victory over VMI that came down to the last second.
Furman (3-8, 1-3) snapped a five-game losing streak last week with a tight 15-14 win over SoCon opponent Mercer. The Paladins' three conference losses have come at the hands of the top three teams in the SoCon standings: Richmond, High Point, and Air Force.
In last season's matchup the Paladins took a 7-3 lead into the fourth period, but a furious Knights comeback knotted the game at 7-7 with 34 seconds left.
