GREENCASTLE, Ind. — The Bellarmine University men's tennis team opened its fall season by winning four flights at last weekend's DePauw Invitational.
In the team's first outing under new head coach
Will Davis, the Knights went a combined 33-9 at the event while capturing three singles flights and one doubles flight.
Freshman
Paul Reynolds won the No. 2 singles flight, freshman
Joseph Kelly was victorious at No. 5 and junior
Nick Johnson and freshman
Eli Franks advanced to the finals at No. 4 — the two teammates didn't play one another.
Sophomore
Michael Staff and freshman
Emil Bjoerlykke Berglund triumphed in the No. 2 doubles flight.
"The guys worked hard and enjoyed the process," Davis said. "We are getting 1 percent better every day."
Bellarmine plays Sept. 27-30 in the ITA Tournament hosted by Grand Valley State.
