CHARLESTON, Ill. — The Bellarmine University track and field teams competed in their final tune-up before the Great Lakes Valley Conference Indoor Championships as the Knights participated in Eastern Illinois' EIU Friday Night Special.
Senior
Benton Stone recorded a PR — and another NCAA provisional — with a 5.10-meter effort in the pole vault. It was good for second place and stood at eighth nationally.
Freshman
Raegan Franklin made it a theme for Bellarmine after recording an NCAA provisional 3.65 on the women's side in the pole vault. She placed fourth in the event.
Senior
Ashley Reyna-Padilla finished third in the 200 as Bellarmine had three place in the top 9 — senior
Victoria McKenzie took fifth and freshman
Katrina Kamarute secured ninth. Senior
Sarah McMurchie placed sixth in the 400.
In addition to Stone, junior
Logan Greco finished fifth in the mile, and sophomore
Tristan Backer was ninth among 37 competitors in the 800.
The GLVC Championships will take place next Saturday and Sunday at host UIndy.
