Bellarmine closes regular season road schedule at Jacksonville

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine Knights hit the road for the final time this season on Saturday as they take on the Jacksonville Dolphins in a Southern Conference battle.

The Knights and Dolphins faced each other back on February 10th in a contest that saw Jacksonville earn a 19-8 victory. Jacksonville leads the all-time series between the two programs 4-3 and has won the past four meetings.

Bellarmine (4-9, 1-3 SoCon) comes into this contest after beating Cleveland State 11-4 on Saturday in their final non-conference game of the season.

Christian Della Rocco had four goals to lead the Knights last time out and has tallied eight points (5G/3A) over the past three contests. Additionally, Landon Trout leads Bellarmine in goals with 16. Trout has also dished out 11 assists this season for a team-high 27 points. Kyle Playsted also has 27 points (14G/13A) to lead the Knights' offense.

The Knights' defense has been led by the duo of Jon Robbins and Eric Rubak. Robbins leads the team in caused turnovers with 32 and has scooped up 37 ground balls while Rubak leads the team in ground balls with 54 and has caused 31 turnovers.

In goal, JC Higginbotham has been the stater for the Knights for the majority of the season, starting in 10 of the 11 games he has seen action in. He has recorded 116 saves with a 50% save percentage.

Jacksonville (6-5, 3-1 SoCon) comes into Saturday after falling to Richmond last week in their lone conference loss of the season.

Jack Dolan (21G/17A) and Matt Stagnitta (20G/17A) lead the Dolphins with 38 and 37 points on the season while Evan Tyler had also tallied 23 points (18G/5A). Nathan Kapp has gone 145-for-260 (55%) at the faceoff dot for the Dolphins.

The Jacksonville close defense is led by Colin Hinton (17GB/9CT) and Connor Shears (21GB/8CT) while Jason Yoquinto has anchored the Dolphins' defense in cage with 91 saves and a 52% save percentage through eight contests and seven starts.
