LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University men's tennis team will tune up for its Atlantic Sun Conference opener with a 2:30 p.m. (ET) match Friday against Centre in the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex.
The Knights will then make their ASUN debut at noon Sunday at Queens.
Bellarmine (4-7, 0-0 ASUN) has been idle since Feb. 22 but is carrying a three-match winning streak into its contest against Division III's Centre (3-1). In the surge, the Knights defeated Tennessee State 4-3, Butler 7-0 and Xavier 5-2.
Centre won its last two matches, taking down IU Southeast 8-1 and Asbury 7-2. The same can be said of Queens, which downed Duquesne 4-3 and Methodist University 7-0 in its two most recent performances. The Royals' five wins have already matched their total from last season.
Bellarmine is looking to build off a 6-2 showing in ASUN play last year. Junior
Jack Batchelor and sophomore
Vineet Ramesh have racked up 13 singles wins apiece for the Knights.
