LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine University men's soccer team will make its Atlantic Sun Conference road debut when the Knights travel to Central Arkansas for a 5 p.m. (ET) matchup Sunday.
Bellarmine (5-2-2, 1-0 ASUN) is seeking its first win over Central Arkansas (1-6-2, 0-0-1) in the Division-I era, as the Bears hold a 4-0-2 series lead over the Knights.
ABOUT CENTRAL ARKANSAS
Central Arkansas is coming off a 3-2 nonconference loss at Oral Roberts on Tuesday. The Bears preceded that contest by opening ASUN play with a 1-1 draw at Queens following a 1-0 nonconference home win over Eastern Illinois. Devonte Richards and Maxim Sheenkov, who accounted for the goal against Queens and had another against Oral Roberts, have found the net twice each.
KNIGHTS NOTES
• The ASUN instituted intra-divisional play only in the regular season this year. As such, Bellarmine will also host Gold Division counterpart Central Arkansas, with the second matchup set for Oct. 18 in Louisville.
• Bellarmine began conference play with a 3-0 home win over Lipscomb that emphatically ended a five-game losing streak to the Bisons.
• Bellarmine is 1-2-2 on the road this season. The Knights captured a 3-0 win at Bowling Green State in their most recent road outing.
• Bellarmine has scored three goals or more in three straight games, the longest such streak in the D1 era. Overall, the Knights have recorded at least three goals on four occasions this season, which is also a D1-era record (previous high was twice in 2023).

Brendan Schoemehl was named ASUN co-Player of the Week on Monday after scoring twice, including the game-winner, in the 3-0 victory over Lipscomb. In addition, the redshirt senior midfielder was recognized on Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week. Schoemehl suffered a season-ending injury early in 2024 but was a 2023 first-team All-ASUN selection.

Rhys Davies on Monday was acknowledged as the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week. The senior defender assisted on BU's game-winning goal against Lipscomb and helped the Knights post their fourth straight shutout. Davies was a Preseason All-ASUN Team selection.
