LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Bellarmine men's tennis is back in action this week with a match on the road at Xavier University on Thursday, February 27 before returning home to host Centre College and Holy Cross College at the Eddie Weber Tennis Complex on Saturday, March 1.
Thursday's match in Cincinnati will be held at the Camargo Racquet Club and is scheduled to begin at 1 pm E.T. Saturday's home doubleheader will begin against Centre at 10 am E.T. with the match against Holy Cross scheduled for 2:30 pm. Live stats will be available on the Bellarmine men's tennis webpage.
Bellarmine last competed on February 14-15 in Grand Forks, ND against the University of North Dakota, falling 7-0 and 6-1 on the weekend. The Knights are 2-4 to this point in the season with Atlantic Sun Conference play on the horizon. Bellarmine got both of its wins at home this season, defeating Furman 4-0 and University of the Cumberlands 7-0.
Xavier is off to a 5-6 start to its season and has won three-straight matches entering Thursday's contest. During their win streak, the Musketeers have topped Ball State 4-3, Northern Kentucky 6-1 and Drake 6-1.
Centre is 4-1 on the season and is on a four-match win streak heading into Saturday's dual. The Colonels defeated Asbury, Campbellsville and Midway by a score of 4-3 before taking down Transylvania 7-0. All four wins came at home with Bellarmine being the first road match of the spring for Centre.
Holy Cross is 3-0 this spring. The Saints' most recent win came against Huntington (Ind.) in 4-0 fashion on February 22. The match will be the first ever meeting between Bellarmine and Holy Cross
